To edit the properties of an Environment and use its features, click on the respective Environment card.
The properties side view provided many options that allow you to adjust Sandbox, Scratch Org, and Production Environments.
The following Environment properties can be viewed and edited:
- Name – Specifies the name given to the Environment.
- Label – An optional method of tagging and organizing environments. Only a single label can be associated with an Environment, however multiple environments can reference the same label. Label colors and names are customizable.
- Environment Type – Refers to the type of the Salesforce environment.
- Expiration Date – Specifies the remaining duration of the selected Scratch Org environment.
- Environment URL – An interactive link to the Salesforce environment for simple access.
- Authentication Type – Displays the authentication status of the selected environment alongside a link to reauthenticate the environment.
- Development Environment – When Pipelines are enabled, displays a toggle to designate an environment as a development environment. You can deploy from this environment to environments in the next stage of any pipeline you have access to, or to other development environments.
- Version Control – Displays the options to connect the selected environment to a version control system branch or create a new branch. Once connected, this section displays the VC branch link and provides the options of saving the environment data and metadata to the branch or deploying from the branch to the environment.
- History – Displays the deployment history for the selected environment, with a shortcut to view any deployment result.
- Remove Environment – An option to disconnect the selected environment from the Prodly system, rendering it unavailable for future deployments and deleting all related record ID tracking. You can add the environment again, but future deployments to or from it will treat records as inserts, not updates.
- Deploy – Provides an option to use the selected environment as a Source or Destination org in a deployment. The dropdown selection and the “Deploy” button are not accessible when Pipelines are enabled in Prodly.
- More Info – Opening the “More Info” popup shows the following properties:
- Added By – The user that added the environment.
- Added On – The date and time when the environment was added.
- Org Id – The Salesforce Organization ID associated with the environment.
- Periodic Metadata Snapshot – An option list for environment periodic snapshots consisting of None, Daily, and Weekly snapshots that will run automatically in the background for faster metadata comparisons between orgs.
- Remove Snapshot – An option to remove the existing snapshot of the selected environment.
