Users can now preform Save to branch and Deploy from branch operations within the Deploy page. Given that Version Control is enabled and a VC Repository is connected in the Control Org, Users can choose branches from their repository as a source and destination in Deploy.
Flexible Save to Branch:
- Setup Version Control in the Control Org
- Visit Deploy
- Select a Source org
- Select the branch you wish to check-in to as the Destination
- All Versioned Data will be selected by default
- Give the deployment a Name and Description (Optional)
- Select ‘Deploy’
Flexible Deploy from Branch:
- Setup Version Control in the Control Org
- Visit Deploy
- Select the branch you wish to check-out from as the Source
- Select the org(s) you wish to deploy to as the Destination
- All Versioned Data will be selected by default
- Give the deployment a Name and Description (Optional)
- Choose if you wish to Temporarily Deactivate Events in the destination (Optional)
- Select ‘Deploy’
Metadata deployments and deployments using a data set are currently not supported at this time for Flexible Check-in / Check-out.
