Deployment plans consists of deployment plan steps, which in turn consist of deployment plan items, giving you maximum flexibility and fine-grained control of your deployments.
To create a deployment plan:
- From the Deployment Plans page, click New.
- Create a deployment plan record:
- Enter a unique, meaningful Deployment Plan Name.
- Optionally, enter a Description.
- Optionally, select a Folder to assign the deployment plan to a folder to better organize your Prodly object data.
- Click Save.
- Notice the deployment plan details page that appears has sections for Deployment Plan Steps, Deployment Plan Items, Event Controls, and Invocations.
- Create a deployment plan step record:
- From the deployment plan details page, at the right edge of the Deployment Plan Steps section header, click New.
- Notice Deployment Plan autofills with the associated plan name.
- Optionally, enter a Description.
- Leave Order Number blank to default to the next step number. You can go back later and edit the order if necessary.
- Optionally, select options to:
- Stop After A Batch Failure – When selected, deployment terminates when a batch fails to deploy.
- Stop After A Record Failure – When selected, deployment terminates when a record fails to deploy.
- Click Save.
- Repeat the previous numbered step for each deployment plan step in your deployment plan.
- Create a deployment plan item record:
- From the deployment plan details page, click the Deployment Plan Step Name you desire to add an item to.
- At the right side of the page, in the Deployment Plan Items section header, click the dropdown arrow and select New.
- Notice Deployment Plan Step autofills with the associated step name.
- Select a Data Set.
- Click Save.
- Repeat the previous numbered step for each data set you desire to deploy.
